It’s that time of year again, where Christmas is over and the New Year is just around the corner. I like to call this Chrimbo Limbo, where it’s just this lost useless space between over indulging and that oh, so familiar time to diet. With this, new thoughts of the way we look, feel and act are evaluated and I’m already stuck in a battle with myself on whether to dye my hair dark or go lighter; a decision that as a woman, should never be taken lightly!
With this in mind, it seems the right time to take a look at the exciting new trends we have to look forward to and have a rummage of those oh so tempting sales to bag a few fashionable favourites to rustle up a fresh new look as well as keeping your bank balance happy! As a self-proclaimed magpie, this is also the perfect opportunity to look at some of the best jewellery buys to accompany the fashion trends that we have recently seen on catwalks globally.
Fashion designers from around the world left us eager for more with the use of pastels, neon, graphics, crops and so much more and showed us that we will definitely be spoilt for choice when it comes to planning our spring/summer wardrobes next year.
The swinging sixties proved to be an inspiration for many designers and Monochrome was certainly the leader in this fashion pack with the likes of Marc Jacobs and Emporio Armani delving into this effortlessly stylish look. Combined with linear and square formations it’s safe to say this timeless trend has been catapulted into the 21st century with new bold and artistic interpretations.
What better way to bring monochrome chic into your wardrobe than with a little Amanda Wakeley elegance. Her stunning jewellery designs are sure to make a statement whilst adding a sleek edge to any outfit. This silver, onyx and diamond ring is the ideal way to bring this S/S13 trend into your jewellery box and not only this, it is also half price at the moment! This Armani bracelet also captures the monochrome trend in a beautifully understated way, making if great for adding this trend in a subtle yet striking way.
Designers such as Louis Vuitton and Viktor and Rolf covered the catwalks in beautiful embellishment, making a clear and bold statement that it is certainly not a one trick pony and is for more than just the party season. This trend is definitely the one that I am most excited about. I have been a huge fan of the studs and sequins adornment we saw on the A/W12 catwalks, and the fact that this is being carried through to next year is music to my ears! The detailing we will see going forward has more of a calming and almost iridescent effect to it, with beading being a firm favourite.
With this in mind what better embellishment for any Ernest Jones woman, than diamonds? It’s a well-known fact that diamonds are a girl’s best friend and I am certainly no exception. We have a selection of diamond rings and jewellery in our sale that will always stand the test of time by keeping up with any trends thrown their way. Did anyone see the absolutely stunning lemon diamond engagement ring which Kelly Clarkson proudly announced her engagement with? I am completely in ore of this ring and think this 18ct white gold yellow and white diamond ring demonstrates this ever popular trend of coloured stones perfectly. Pastels are a spring summer favourite, and this ring would be the best of friends with any of my pastel coloured wardrobe additions!
Ok, so that’s enough swooning over diamonds and designer clothes, it’s time for a little look for the men and at Ernest Jones we have an enviable selection of watches sure to make those last minutes in the count down to 2013 more stylish than ever. This Tag Heuer watch is sure to add a touch of sophistication to any look, with a sleek stainless steel bracelet, chronograph and date function.
So with a brief overview on next year’s looks, I hope I’ve got you eager to shop the latest trends or at least to be excited of what fashion enthused pieces of clothing and jewellery we will see over the next coming months.
